BENGALURU, DHNS: Brothers Amaan and Ayaan Ali Bangash presented a performance at musical concert ‘Sarod Trilogy’ in Bengaluru on Saturday. They were accompanied by Pandit Tanmoy Bose (tabla) and Vidwan Giridhar Udupa (ghatam). The event was held at Chowdiah Memorial Hall as part of fourth edition of “Tarangini 2026′, an evening of classical music.

Speaking before the commencement of the concert, Amaan Ali Bangash said, “Music is the greatest wealth in our family.”

For about 40 minutes, the maestros expertly showcased the allure of the conversation between the sarod, tabla, and ghatam. Then, Amaan announced that “appetisers are done, and it’s time for the main course” and welcomed Grammy-winning artiste Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, who entered the stage amid a standing ovation.

“After a long time, I got the opportunity to play in this historic hall,” the sarod virtuoso told the audience. He began with the Rag Yaman Kalyan before playing other compositions. The familiarity the Padma Vibhushan-winning artiste has with the sarod is unmissable as he draws in the audience with ease, placing them gently between beats of the raga.
Talking about how music connects with the cause, director of Mitra CanCare Foundation, Dr Belliappa M S told DH, “Music, especially Indian classical music, has a soothing effect. It heals. And music has no barriers; it connects people regardless of language, caste, and creed. So, it’s music that has brought people together to support the cause.” The musical event was organised by Mitra CanCare Foundation to support childhood cancer patients.
