On August 29, 2026, Mitra CanCare Foundation, under its Taruni Mitra services, conducted an HPV Vaccination Drive for students of Mahatma Vidyalaya, Muthanallur, aged 13-16 years (VIII-X Std), as a continuation of the first dose administered on 31 January 2026 at NR Hospital, Attibele. Around 22 students received their second dose, following registration, vital checks and vaccination, with each child observed for 20 minutes. Three students with fever and throat infection were advised to take the vaccine after recovery.
Dr. Mahalaxmi and Dr. Namrata administered the vaccines, supported by four WIPFLI (one of our Silver sponsors) volunteers, the school Principal and teachers, N R Hospital doctors and staff, vaccine partners Serum Institute and UTIVAC, who ensured cold-chain delivery.
With this drive, the Taruni Mitra initiative completed its first round, administering 247 vaccine doses (two-dose regimen) across three schools between August 2025 and August 2026.
